Marketing: The film had two trailers, and was mainly advertised in Korea. The worldwide success came from the reviews it was getting. It was shown in Cannes Film Festival 2016.  As it is a foreign film, a lot of people heard about from other people, as recommendations.
Release Date: It was shown at Cannes Film Festival 13th May, 2016. At the time, K-Con (a korean convention) was going on in Paris, meaning that people who enjoy Korean culture were around, and therefore saw the Korean film that was being shown. It was shown in South Korea 20th July 2016. It was shown in the UK 28th October, 2016.

Me, Earl and the Dying Girl

Marketing: The official trailer was released on April 8th, 2015. The official poster was released on April 20th, 2015. It was played at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival in Utah.
Release Date: 25th January, 2015 : It was played at the Sundance festival.
Reviews: Me and Earl and the Dying Girl got 7.8/10 on IMDb, 82% on Rotten Tomatoes and 5/5 on Common Sense Media, getting quotes like "the direction and cinematography are absolutely incredible".
Distribution: It's distributed by Fox Searchlight Pictures. The film was shown in 870 theatres all together globally. The DVD was released 6th October, 2015.
It was successful because it is well made with a touching and meaningful storyline. It also had a very good reception at the Sundance Film Festival, winning two awards, so people may want to see it, as it has good reviews.

FM2: Section A- UK Production

Spectre

Marketing: It's part of the James Bond franchise, which is based off of a book. It's whole concept has become a connotation of Britain. It's in partnership with companies like Aston Martin and Martini, and Bond has catchphrases and an image that supports both. Advertising on TV with teaser trailers, and on social media. Sam Smith recorded the OST for the film, which was a very successful song, reaching number 1 in the UK Singles chart on it's first release.
Release Date: 26th October 2015
-not many other films came out at this time, mainly just horror films, so spectre was a change for the usual cinema trends, meaning more people who weren't horror films, would go and see it. 
Reviews: On Rotten Tomatoes, it got 65%. 4/5 Stars from The Guardian, saying it "didn't live unto the standards of Skyfall" which is it's previous film. Won two Empire Award's for Best British Film and Best Acton/Adventure Film.
Distribution: Spectre was released for Digital Release on 22nd January 2016, and DVD release on 22nd February 2016.

It appeals to older people as it is a franchise from 50+ Years ago, so has a vintage image to keep up. Older people have more time, so go to the cinema. Also, they feel like they can trust this company, because it's been around for so long. Younger people may see it as a new style of British heritage, so decide to go and see it. Worldwide, people may see it as a way to describe what British people are like, so they watch it to learn about the country, and experience and different type of culture.

Marketing: The first trailer was aired on Jimmy Kimmel Live in America, which is a prime time TV show with lots of viewers. It became the number one trending thing on Twitter as soon as it was released.  Marvel also released a video on Facebook for "Friends Day", hinting towards the storyline of the film. Marvel Comics released a four-piece comic pre-story to create more hype about the film. Posters and products with the Captain America logo were sold.
Release Date: May 6, 2016
X-Men: Apocalypse also came out at this time.
Reviews: Won two Teen Choice Awards and was nominated for 8 others. 90% on Rotten Tomatoes. 5/5 from Empire Magazine. 4/5 from The Guardian. "The ultimate Marvel event"- Empire Magazine.
Distribution: The distribution company is Disney. The film was shown in cinemas all around the world. It was available for digital download on September 2nd, 2016 and was also released on DVD that day.  It is not currently on any streaming websites, but will be put on them this month.
Production Company and Fans: Marvel are well known to put secret bits of film after the whole credits, and their dedicated audience (Marvel Fans) know this, so stay until the end of the credits. This makes fans feel more connected with the company, as it is like a secret shared with the company and the fans. Marvel also put references to other superhero comics, sometimes hinting towards the future of certain characters. The creates the same closer relationship between the company and the fans.
