It appeals to older people as it is a franchise from 50+ Years ago, so has a vintage image to keep up. Older people have more time, so go to the cinema. Also, they feel like they can trust this company, because it's been around for so long. Younger people may see it as a new style of British heritage, so decide to go and see it. Worldwide, people may see it as a way to describe what British people are like, so they watch it to learn about the country, and experience and different type of culture.
